Fine weather greeted forty plus riders for the Ixion charity trial at the clubs old scramble track last used in 1995. Four laps of ten sections were tackled with rocks-tree roots-cambers and steep banks to negotiate.

The trial was in aid of the charity MIND and nearly £440 will be handed over which included a raffle on the day.

Best Expert was Joel Mitson 250 Scorpa with a loss of 16 the sharp and steep cambers of section six taking half his tally.

The ever improving Intermediate Sam Cherry had a fair ride putting two good performances in on section seven a fairly long affair with an almost vertical five metre drop off before blasting up an equally steep 12 metre climb.

Alan Taylor kept a clean sheet on the standard white route and was best clubman on the day 4 ahead of former Ixion member Glen Pettit who rode section three 'The Wall of Death' for a single dab after four visits.

Out of retirement after 10 years or so Gordon Pusey a former top centre expert put his old TY250 through it's paces and will soon be back on the winning trail if todays ride was anything to go by. John Langston was novice class victor beating Freddie Davis (not of parrot face fame I might add) into second place on this occasion.

New boy to Ixion trials but not to winning his class was youth B runner John Bannister who piloted his Beta 125 around for an impressive score of 14, John rode section one without fault this section was tricky with a steep drop to a rocky turn before lining up for a narrow gap between two Hawthorns then a right hand uphill slick grassy exit.

The Blue eased route was a little on the steep side at some sections but this was no problem for Ex Scrambler Brian Ayres who plonked around on his immaculately turned out TLR 200 for a miserly single dab that went astray on section two a really tough camber followed by a loose drop and greasy hill to finish.
